The Roanoke Parks and Recreation has invited our chapter to join them for Kids to Parks Day. Launched in 2011, Kids to Parks Day is a nationwide celebration of the great outdoors organized by National Park Trust and is designed to connect kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands (more info on the nationwide program here). Our 2018 local event will be Saturday, May 19 from 12-4 pm at Wasena Park. Last year’s event attracted over 1,000 people. Roanoke Parks and Recreation will have several food vendors on-site, as well as several different activity stations, such as a climbing tower, face paint, frisbee golf, environmental education, slacklines, and many more.
Our Chapter will be doing Fly Casting Demo’s, if you wish to sign up for this event please email roanokevalleytuphotos@gmail.com.
